PK Challenge with Paper Piecing

 Good morning my crafty friends

OK - I have to say I love this wall hanging
I usually make cards - so needless to say I have a ton of them uncertain when and if I will ever use them.
So I have been on a mission to create projects that will actually be used.
So when I saw the latest PK Challenge - out of the corner of my eyes I saw my latest Market Street Purchased - MSS - 14 Enjoy Today.  EUREKA! I really strive to enjoy each day but ahhh life has a way of getting in my way sometimes. Those who know me well, know I love coffee, hot chocolate, or a hot cup of tea mostly when it is cold and dismal outside.
So that is where the inspiration for this project came from.
I had to play with the paper piecing. I cut out 3 or 4 cups. kept playing with it and then like magic it finally came together in a way that suited me. The plate has a beehive pattern to it - it is from  K& Company. Everything is better with a little honey in it. I colored the liquid with my Staples permanent marker in a soft brown - lots of cream for me. The rim and the coffee cup handle - scraps. I went along the edge of the plate with my Gelly Brown pen. Twine from the Twinery Ink - Stampin' Up & Memento. I painted a cardboard with Delta Ceramcoat Dark Brown The paper strips and the rectangle that I stamped the sentiment on were cut from one 8X8 piece of DCWV paper - the Natural Stack. The rest of the paper came from my scrap drawer. If you go to the end of this post you will see a picture of this project hanging in my Kitchen. Let me know what you think.

a traditional New Mexican cookie
to give out to some special people in my life.

 Recycling
One of my Goals - is to organize my supplies in my craft room
I also am attempting to do some mix-media projects
Yet again Raven inspired
So I need a container to place my acrylic paints in
I took an old Bailey's Tin
and covered it with a an old cereal box painted with
Golden Brown craft smart acrylic paint
Then I drew the heart with the wings freehand
I love hearts and Angels
Why you ask - I have no idea it just is what it is.
Enjoy the Journey - From Pink By Design
The rest came came together using Jim Holtz' Material
Distress Ink
Adage Tickets
Stamp set - Visual Artistry
The wing were colored with paint and I also

Project for Peachy Keen Challenge
More infor as to how this card came to be
But I don't want to miss the deadline so please bear with me
Hugs
Percilla

Ok, I am guilty -
I buy stamps and they sit there without being inked for ahhh
months, and sometimes over a year.
So when I saw that I only had 57 minutes to link up for this challenge
I decided that I would use PK's 280
Valentines Sweets - Yes this is the first time I use this stamp set !
I couldn't tell you when I purchased it.
FYI - I went back with my ATG gun and glued
down the brown metallic paper (unknown source)
The pink polk dotted paper - SK&Company Sweet Nectar
The pink paper is from one of my favorite paperstacks -
DCWV Safari Kids
I used Martha Steward punch on the sentiment rectangle
And on the edge of the circle and then placed twine in the holes
I love the way that turned out.
Cheeks - Stampin up pastel chalk
Flower - Recollection
Twine - The Twinery
Pink ribbon unknown source
Oh yeah and yes I do love to place PK faces on circles
and then place them on flowers
On this one I embossed the circle and
then went over the x's with my pink gell marker

Well this card only took me about 20 minutes or so
I think it turned out really well
Hope you like it

Ok everyone you have a couple more hours to comment and be a follower
for a chance to win my candy for Raven's Birthday Blog.
