Challenge 37 :: A Sketch

For this challenge I decided to go with a fall theme.

I colored several of these owls for a PK challenge that I missed the deadline for.
She is Smartie the Owl  PK-126
I colored her with my copics and then went over parts of it with my yellow stickles
The circles where cut with my Spellbinders - Big Scalloped Circles Large.
On the lighter brown circle, I used my permanent marker to make it pop and then
used my copic marker and yellow stickles.

The circles where cut with My Marvy punch
I went over some of them with my yellow stickles
Twine - the Twinery
Ribbon - American Craft.
The papers all came from my scrap box.
Gems - Recollections

Now I have to decide who to send it to.
I make cards for challenges and then they just sit in a box to be used one day.
I have decided to stop doing that.
I know I love getting snail mail
It makes me feel special knowing that someone thought about me
and went out of their way to mail me a letter or a card.

PK Challenge 31: 3D Objects - Box it up

I loved this challenge
This little wooden box was picked up at Michael's for 25 cents.
I love clearance bins
The top was missing but as soon as I saw it,
I knew it would be perfect for this latest challenge.
Yesterday my 3 yr old granddaugher stayed home from Preschool
and when she saw it she smiled and asked is this mine Grandma?
Ahhh - This is one of the reasons why I love scrapbooking.
I need to see about getting more of this boxes so I can make several more
Seeing that I have 2 daughters and 6 grand kids.

This is what went into making this little project:
When I got home, I pulled out my peachy keen stamps look for something that would fit.
And this little mouse from the PK-281 Valentine Cupids was the perfect size.
I painted the box with Ceramcoat acrylic Think Pink1paint
The roof was cut from some Styrofoam I had laying around the house.
The Ribbon was the perfect size - I love when that happens.
The mouse was colored with my Copic Markers
The hearts in the back were stamped and cut using
My Creative Times 100% Sweetness set that includes a heart die
The paper was purchased at Ross -
Pressed Petals For All Seasons Open Stock
Gems - K&Company
Stickers - unknown source
Spellbinders Ribbon Banner
Behind the mouse and the hearts I also used more Styrofoam

I love how this turned out
Hope you do as well

Peachy Keen Challenge - Pop up card

I saw this stamp from the latest PK Stamp of the month club
and I had a million ideas of how to use it.
Nothing too fancy here but it is for a man
and I do struggle to make cards for men
OK so her is my confession I don't currently have a man to give this to.
However, there is this believe system that
if you act as if something is already yours it will be.
Who knows this card might do the trick !

Stamps: PK's July & Hero Arts
K&Company - Page tab & solid color paper
Lawn Fawn - Chevron Grey paper
Ribbon - American Craft
Floss - We R Memory Keepers
Buttons Galore

Peachy Challenge 29 - Color inspiration

When I saw the colors for this challenge, I though of using the PK's Gnome set.
Which I did use for the tree truck and the grass. I eventually decide to use PK's Kiss Me Leprechaun.
I also used Market Street's background stamp on the tree trunk.
I colored my little leprechaun with my copics.
I love this colors combination.

Peachy Keen Stamps August Release Challenge #2

OMG
OK, here is why. It just seemed like one mistake after another.
And as always I could hear my daughter telling me
"You can never make a mistake when scrap booking."
So I just kept working on it.

In the end, I was happy with it.
The inside is blank. I think it can be used for a number of
different occasions

The flower pot of course is from PK's March stamp of the month.
Flowers - Stampendous
Card K&Company
Kaisercraft Lavendar Pearls
Liquid Pearl
Copic Markers - 2 of the flowers were paper pieced
I colored them and then didn't like them,
so then I had to use flowers that I had previously colored.
Ribbon - Unknown source
Flowers - Recollections
Spellbinder - Big Scalloped Circles large

Peachy Keen Stamps August Release Challenge #1

OK, please bear with me here.
I am in a school frame of mind.
School starts here in NM next week.

So for this challenge, I wanted to create a school theme card and
this months challenge required us to make a card with a unique or special fold,
and also, use at least 3 patterned papers.

I used PKs July Stamp of the month set and My Creative Time's My Teacher Rocks.
Pattern papers - DCWV the Papertime stack - printed card stock
I also used scrap pattern paper for his coverall and hat and on her skirt
I absolutely love how they turned out.
I colored with my copic markers
With the twine I pulled out all the strands.
I used Art - C suede on her skirt and liquid pearl on the bodice which I colored with my copics

MKS July Color Challenge

I Actually made two cards
The first was made at my daughter's
Color and paper piecing
Paper scraps were used
The stamp is of course from Market Street Stamp set that I was lucky enough to win.
The grass was created using the June Peachy Keen stamps of the month kit.

The second card I used my prismacolor pencils
I blended with a stump and Sansodor
The sticker came from Stampabilities
I then used some gems and stickles to jazz it up.

If you were to asking me which one I like the best ....
Ahh that would be tough so I will wait and see what you all think

Peachy Keen Challenge - 3D Objects

Gift Bag for my daughter's birthday

The idea and measurements for this bag came from
Papercrafts & Stamp It! Treasury of Tips and Tricks

It is approximately & 7.5 inches tall
Perfect for perfume or lotion, etc

I love the way the skirt turned out.
It was created with Recollectins Boutique Fleur in light and dark pink.
I just kept cutting and gluing until I was happy with the result.

I drew her out using Collage Couture by Julie Nutting as a guide,
then traced the various pieces and paper pieced her and the outfit
together.  What is cool about doing it this way is that I have the original that
I can use over and over again. Then I can change the details along the way.
The skirt turned out differently than I first imagines.
I only used two large size flowers.
Then I placed a button and twine on one one button
Liquid Pearl on the one on the skirt
and then a glossy one one the top.

I often create bows but I changed it up seeing that the
ribbon has a wired edge that you can do different things with.

I have also discovered that it is best to create something and then
allow it to sit for awhile and then add more details.

Material
Peachy Keen Stamps:
Laffy Taffy Face that I accentuated with my brown Gelly Roll pen
PKSC - March  & May
Graphic 45 - body
Bag - Colorbok Textured Cardstock
Hair, hair band, and shoes - Artist's Loft Paint
Body - Copic Marker
Stickles on the dress & Liquid Pearls
Melody Ross Die Cut Border
Fabric Flowers
Buttons Galore
Twinery - Twine
Handle - Wire Edged Ribbon from Kirkland

Peachy Keen's Weekly Challenge: Chalk It Up

I loved this Challenge which encouraged me to use chalk

I recently purchased this retired set (PK-34 Oh! Baby) from Peachy Keen
knowing that there will be at least one teacher or someone
in my extended family who will be expecting this year.

The only coloring I did on this card was around the edge of
the center of the baby's rattle: light & dark aqua

The idea for this card came from the Melody Ross Die Cut Border.

OK here is the list of the other items I used:
Chalk in Various shades from Stampin' Up
I used eye make up sponges with the chalk.
Sentiments - Pink By Design
Clouds and Birds - Dear Lizzy & American Crafts
Images stamped with various Tim Holt's Distressing Ink
& Stampology - Onyx
Ribbon - K&Company
Flower - GCD Studio

Peachy Keen Challege - frame

Hi everyone, this is for the latest PK Challenge
You are required to use a Frame
I am staying over at my daughter's house as I
recuperate from my surgery.
So although I own this set of stamps,
I used all her material.
I am in craft Heaven seeing that my daughter has a ton more resources than I do.
The reason that I join challenges is too inspire me to branch out and
also with the hope that my project will be selected, and I can always use more material.
Yes we all love winning, Especially Pk materials!

I used scraps
Tim Holtz's Distressing Ink
A spellbinder to create the frame
My cute turtle was colored with copics
Yes, I was also taught how to blend
I know I need a lot more practice and more copics.
I primarily use prisma color pencils but she has somehow misplaced hers.
Grass stampin' up ink
Prisma flowers
fabric flowers - ribbon cut from an unknown source
Liquid pearl in the center
I love how that blue paper looks just like water.
I pasted this on card board so I can either hang it or glue a stand on the back.
I am loving this set
AND
I love PK's Stamps of the month.
Can hardly wait to see what Kathy will create in the future!

Well I hope you like what I created

June's Pk Challenge 2

PK's Challenge 2

Lorie's challenge was a theme challenge - "Things that fly."
Of course I used PK's latest stamp release.

When I was just about done putting together my little fairy my 3 year old grandbaby Mikaylah
asked, "Gammy are you making that for me ?"
In that instant I knew I was making a walk hanging..
I can hardly wait to see her face when I give it to her.
She, her mom & brother having been staying with me
as I recover from surgery and then off to Raven's.

The outfit was paper pieced together with scraps I had laying around.
When I started working on her, I knew that I did not want to use
pastel colors so somehow I ended up using red, pink and black.
Roses - Echo park
Paper - My Mind's Eye's Lost & Found 6x6 paper pack
Along the edges & on the red card stock as well I used
Tim Holtz' Festive Berry Distressing Ink
Wings - Stickles
Hat & shoes - Staples permanent marker
Stem - copics
pink dots - liquid pearl
paper ribbons - My Mind's Eye's with some more distressing ink
ribbon and glitter paper unknown source
OK guys I am totally exhausted so it is off to bed for me.
Hope you like what I created
