The box that I used was originally a box full of cards that I purchased at Costco. I created a card on the box.

Colored with my Prismacolors  and blended with Stampin up blender pen. Martha Steward's Ocean on the flowers on top of Stampin' up Choc Chip
I used Jim Holtz Alternations Burlap embossing folder.
Yellow stickles on the necklace.
My daughter (R.B.)  told me I needed more layering.
By the way I did glue the edge that is sticking up on the right side down.

PK Banner Challenge

This LO if for my eldest daughter Vanessa. She is graduating with her Bachelors in Social Work and I wanted to make her something where she could place a picture when she graduates later this week.  

I am so proud of her. 

I used the Wide-Eyed Kids Face Assortment for the faces on the banner. 

I used Market Street's Lost Garden and Simple Joys - recently purchased for me (Thanks Raven). I stamped one with Memento's Sweet Plum and the other with Vivid's Purple.

Thank you cards

This entire week has been teacher appreciation week. These cards are to say thank you to some of my parents. Thank goodness I teacher special education and I have only have 6 students this year.
The stamps are from Quatros - Hero Arts set colored with my prismacolor pencils and blended with Stampin' up pen. The design around the edge of the circles is from Dear Lizzy + American Crafts Warble set. The paper is DCWV the glittered all dressed up matstack. The ribbons are from my stash. The flowers are form Recollection Boutique Fleur. The ink is Stazon Jet black. The glitter on the women is Stickles in various colors.
I love all of them but my favorite is the one with the animal print.

Birthday card for my son-In-law and for the PK challenge

The plaid background is from the All ABout Boys Stack (DCWV). The stamps  are from Stampin' up Loads of Love and the accessory set that goes with it.  The road on the bottom is from Hot Off the Press Stamped Stitches set. I colored the gifts to go with the paper.  The decorative brad is from Making Memories Antique copper round 1. I have been holding on to them for what seems like forever. As soon as I started this card they just seemed perfect for this card. 

Peachy Keen Challenge

Ok so where to begin. The background is a red orange shade metallic paper from the Safari Kids cardstock matstack. The flower strip of paper is from the All Dressed Up matstack(DCWV).  The stamp is Quatres from Hero Arts. The circle is from Me & My Big Idea - Sassy Icons. The ribbon is Martha Steward's from the green Elegant Ribbon pack. I colored her with my Prismcolor pencils and blended the skin tone and the cheeks with my blender pen from Stampin up and I colored the red flowers on her hairband and on the circle with a red Sharpie permanent marker. The gold on her hair  is from a metallic set of markers and of the black dots are stickles. The Embellishments are from various companies. Personally I love it, hope others do as well.

Market Street Challenge

Do you ever have those moments when what you imagine actually comes out better than the image in your head? This is one of those moments for me. To begin with, I was so excited to  arrive home and see that there was a package from Angelica at Market Street in my mail box.
I used the Loopy Polkas background stamp. I embossed in red - to represent the red chili we use in the masa for our tamales. The tamales are from Market Street's Bilingual Series. The raffia  is the one that my stamps came wrapped in. Oh and by the way if you don't have the XL block - you need to order it ASAP. It is the perfect size for those larger stamps.
Every Christmas, the girls get together with my mom (Nana) and make tamales.
My goal was to make a card with a warm Mexican feel to it. Yes, my mother and her mother before her were born in this country but my Mexican heritage is still very important to me and that is why I love the bilingual set.
